This has undoubtedly been Daniel Bryan’s year and he rightly deserves the title of ‘best in the world’ right now.
He’s never in a bad match and is astute on the microphone, forming a relationship with the crowd which is unrivalled in WWE. He had arguably the two best matches of the year so far, firstly against Bray Wyatt at Royal Rumble, then against Triple H at WrestleMania 30. Bryan then went on to win the WWE title in another sterling effort, triumphing over Randy Orton and Batista in a show closing Mania moment.
The Extreme Rules brawl with Kane had some criticism, but personally, I thought it was quite entertaining for what it was. Unfortunately Bryan has gone out injured since then, but it will take more than a few weeks out to dislodge him from his number 1 status. He’s the best pro wrestler in the world right now, no one is anywhere near matching his status or ability.
When he steps through the ring ropes, Bryan is capable of anything in the ring – brawling, mat wrestling, hard hitting, high flying. The current Champion is WWE’s very finest and his potential is boundless.
